About SD Melanin
At SD Melanin we curate unique experiences to build community and enhance the cultural ecosystem for professionals of color. Previously known as San Diego Melanin, SD Melanin was founded in April 2017 to enhance the cultural ecosystem for professionals of color. We are passionate about designing unique experiences that build community, networks, and create joy for people of color. We believe that our communities are stronger when we are all served.
Our mission is to build community and recreate the entertainment and hospitality landscape to truly welcome and serve people of color as the prototype versus as a by-product.
Since our founding, we’ve curated over 200 events and served more than 10,000+ guest. Our diverse event catalogue includes black tie galas, rooftop soirees, music concerts, bar crawls, healing circles, networking happy hours, and much more. Our tribe is dope, diverse, and we can’t wait to connect with you!
